Growing up in the suburbs of Detroit, Michael started acting as a teenager and continued throughout high school. Later on he headed to Kalamazoo to get his BA in Theatre Performance at Western Michigan University. After graduating, Michael landed in Detroit, which quickly became an artistic home for him — working at theaters like Detroit Public Theatre, Flint Repertory Theatre, and many others. He’s now based in NYC but always has a love for the Motor City.

In Detroit, Michael helped develop and produce award-winning independent short films, including Famous In Michigan (Cinetopia Detroit Voices Audience Choice Award) and Thick Air, in which he also starred. He has appeared in commercials for Michigan Lottery and Bigby Coffee, including a spot directed by Jeff Daniels. Michael is also an associate artist at Flint Repertory Theatre.
